ellypeg
I am an ex-Architectural Draftsman, Kindy relief teacher and Teacher Aide. I have always and enjoyed crafting with my daughter but never really considered myself accomplished at anything just tended to flit between projects.
ellypeg is a little business I started after completing the 100 Days Project a couple of years ago. After the project was finished I had become so enamoured by these sweet little dolls I just kept going and a little business was born.
ellypegs are hand painted/custom painted collectable wooden peg dolls. Many of the dolls are hand turned by a locally retired master craftsman in NZ timbers.
The dolls make great gifts as 3D family portraits, cake toppers, souvenirs or toys. I intentionally don’t paint a complete face on my ellypegs as this enables children to use their imagination and encourages open-ended play. They are ideal for playing with wooden blocks, dolls houses, trucks or just by themselves.
Each doll is a little work of art, as they are hand painted. No two dolls are identical, they are truly unique pieces
